Hear our story

It all started in 2024, when Garrett Weaver (then just seven) asked “How can I actually play with my baseball cards?” When nothing existed, he and his younger brother Simon invented a set of rules at our dining-room table.
Garrett had always loved using his cards to make teams, create line-ups, think about match-ups, but he wanted to use them to play a REAL baseball game (with all the possible outcomes) that used the REAL stats from his favorite baseball cards to mirror what historically might happen.
He wanted the game to work for EVERY card, from his dad’s collection from the 1980’s and 1990’s, to his own collection from the 2020’s, and everything in between. And he wanted it to be true to all the best nuances of baseball - double plays, sac flies, stolen bases, runners taking an extra base on a hit, lefty-righty matchups, etc.
So that’s what Garrett created. After experimenting with over fifteen iterations of the rules to properly weigh all the probabilities, then playing with Simon every morning and evening, to finally laying out a temporary board and play-testing with his parents and classmates and baseball teammates, Baseball Card GM™ was born in 2025.
Garrett and Simon hope you enjoy it as much as they do - so you too can go from a Baseball Card Collector to a Baseball Team GM.
But be careful, it can become an obsession!
Regards,
Garrett, Simon, Matthew (dad), and Sarina (mom)
